# Practice Player third-party notice manifest

Practice Player is built with JUCE 9.0.0 under the applicable commercial JUCE
license or another valid JUCE licensing option selected by Arntz Labs. The JUCE
framework is not licensed to Practice Player users under this freeware EULA.
JUCE licensing details are available at <https://juce.com/legal/juce-9-licence/>.

Release packaging includes the complete license text and required attributions
for every component present in the released binary. Byte-for-byte copies from
the pinned JUCE 9.0.0 source tree are stored in `Legal/Licenses/`; the macOS and
Windows packaging scripts verify their SHA-256 hashes before creating a public
package. This manifest records the current audit and accompanies those texts.

## Standalone application dependencies

- FLAC/libFLAC — BSD-style license; copyright Josh Coalson and the Xiph.Org
  Foundation.
- Ogg Vorbis — BSD-style license; copyright Xiph.org Foundation.
- Independent JPEG Group software — IJG license.
- libpng — PNG Reference Library License.
- zlib — zlib license; copyright Jean-loup Gailly and Mark Adler.
- HarfBuzz — Old MIT license and component-specific notices.
- SheenBidi — Apache License 2.0.
- LunaSVG and PlutoVG — MIT license; copyright Samuel Ugochukwu.
- Signalsmith Stretch — MIT license; copyright 2022 Geraint Luff / Signalsmith
Audio Ltd. Practice Player uses it to time-stretch and pitch-shift the
  practice song independently.
- Signalsmith Linear — MIT license; copyright 2025 Signalsmith Audio. It is the
STFT and FFT used by Signalsmith Stretch.

JUCE's ASIO integration is disabled by default in this project
(`JUCE_ASIO=0`), so the proprietary Steinberg ASIO SDK must not be enabled in a
Windows release unless Arntz Labs first completes the applicable Steinberg
license process and updates this manifest.

## Format-specific dependencies

- VST3: Steinberg VST3 SDK, MIT license; copyright Steinberg Media
  Technologies GmbH.
- Audio Unit: Apple AudioUnitSDK, Apache License 2.0.
- AAX: Avid AAX SDK and PACE signing components, under their applicable
proprietary agreements. The production AAX release must receive a separate
notice and license review after the final Avid/PACE toolchain is established.

## Release checklist

Before publishing a download:

1. Generate the release from the pinned dependency versions.
2. Copy the exact dependency license texts from that source revision into the
installer or an accompanying `Licenses` directory.
3. Confirm that build flags did not introduce additional codecs, SDKs, network
libraries, copy-protection components, or installer dependencies.
4. Re-run this audit independently for macOS and Windows and for Standalone,
   AU, VST3, and AAX packages.
